It has been almost 2 yrs since the GDPR arrived to force and today the European Commission (“EC”) is defined to undertake an assessment and finally report on problems with respect to the use of the GDPR. Particularly, the EC will review on the international exchange provisions and cooperation and regularity mechanisms between supervisory authorities.
The EC happens to be in the “roadmap” stage of the procedure. A roadmap aims to see citizens and stakeholders concerning the EC’s function. One component of the roadmap would be to gather comments from residents and stakeholders, and the chance to provide such suggestions opened up on 2 April 2020. The closing time for feedback is 29 April 2020. There exists a 4000 character restriction on the feedback functionality, but word documents could be uploaded where they contain analysis or other results that support the opinions being provided. This responses will be used to help expand create and finesse the evaluation. A number of rules for providing comments, which are connected here.
Once the feedback time period provides closed, the EC will evaluation and summarise the suggestions to make a summary report, aiming the way the EC intends to proceed. When possible, the EC provides reasons on why specific suggestions cannot be followed. The EC intends to look at the survey in the second one fourth of 2020.
